NEW MOON in SAGITTARIUS – Monday, December 2, 2013

The energy begins to lift at 7:22 pm (EST) this evening, as the Moon joins the Sun in the fiery sign of Sagittarius. We’ve experienced a lot of intensity these past few weeks with Mercury and Saturn in Scorpio – turning our energies inward. This new cycle is fueled by the optimistic Sagittarian energy and sets a lively pattern for this Holiday Season. Our energies now shift from inner to outer when we can reap the benefits of new insights.

Shifting our Focus – Integrating New Insights

Mercury, Planet of communication, has been in Scorpio for the last 2 months – giving us ample time to journey inwards. Mercury enters Sagittarius on December 6th enlivening our communications and feeding the desire to bring what we’ve learned into the bigger picture. If you’ve been feeling intensely involved in self-exploration and having bouts of self-criticism, Mercury in Sagittarius stimulates a welcome shift.

It’s easier now to be more philosophical and dispassionate. We are more able to appreciate the “bigger picture” of what we have learned and how to integrate these new insights – understanding ourselves from a deeper perspective. Now we can take things less seriously and far less personally. Enjoy this time. Share your joy and gratitude with others. We have plenty to be thankful for.

Showing Appreciation in Tangible Ways

Venus in Capricorn brings a certain seriousness to our relationships. Taking responsibility for personal attitudes and habits is a good use of this energy. Sitting down with your personal and business partners is timely. Listening carefully and expressing concern for others, in tangible ways, will be much appreciated. Spend some time with your partners, family and friends and enjoy something that you may have put off. Find hands-on ways to show caring and attention. Especially now, easing another’s burdens deepens our relationships.

Venus will be spending an unusually long cycle in Capricorn as she’ll go retrograde on Dec 21, 2013 (Winter Solstice) until Feb. 1, 2014. Venus will move out of Capricorn on March 6, 2014 when she enters Aquarius – a great time for creative ideas.

Balancing the Warrior with the Diplomat

Mars finishes its two month journey in Virgo on December 8, 2013 and enters Libra. Mars, ruler of Aries, brings the energy of the warrior, the entrepreneur, the adventurer into Libra, the sign of peace and cooperation. There’s tension between these opposing energies – and a way you can hold both. Libra brings the energy of compromise, collaboration and cooperation. It’s the energy of the mediator, appreciating more than one opinion or point of view. Mars in Libra can feel like a see-saw – moving between the impatience to “get on with the job” and the feeling of “sitting on the fence” swinging back and forth without resolution. There are ways that these energies can work in harmony. Mars is wonderful at taking initiative and Libra is wonderful at appreciating more than one point of view without judgement. Use these Martian energies to initiate group conversations and then lean back and really listen without interrupting. This can bring positive outcomes and fruitful accord.

A Time to Give, A Time to Receive

Jupiter brings beneficial and expansive energies that express themselves uniquely in each Sign. Cancer is the sign of the mother, the nurturer – expanding emotions. During this cycle it’s important to keep balance in relationship with others. If you overdo and exhaust yourself, you can become resentful. It’s important to be a gracious receiver as well as a gracious giver. With the Holiday Season coming up quickly – take time to nurture yourself as well as focussing on others.

Jupiter will be in Cancer until July 17, 2014 when it enters Leo and brings its energy out into the World.

A Year of Healing, Acceptance, Forgiveness

Saturn journeys through Scorpio until December 25, 2014. We’re still in deep learning mode. Depending on Saturn’s relationship with other Planets in your birth chart – there may be challenges to move through that can feel quite burdensome. “This too shall pass” is a good motto now. The opportunity to deepen your healing process is something to be grateful for. It’s a good time to let go of what no longer serves you. Saturn in Scorpio calls upon us to simplify. During this next year – let’s create opportunities to forgive ourselves and others – resulting in healing and acceptance of the past.

From Revolution to Evolution

Uranus is squaring Pluto on and off until March 2015. We’re half-way through this cycle. This configuration opens the door to major transformational opportunities – taking us from revolution to evolution. It may feel chaotic – as outdated systems and institutions move close to collapse. On a physical and environmental scale, weather patterns may be unusually chaotic and extreme. For more information on this square, please see the New Moon (in Libra) newsletter on my website: http://eleanorkibrick.com.
SUMMARY: During this cycle, things are brightening up. It’s a good time to be grateful for all that we have in our lives and all that we can share with others. Giving brings a special kind of joy – especially when in balance with being willing to receive.

Stay tuned for another major shift when Mercury enters the sign of Aquarius on January 12, 2014. Communication and thought processes will be stimulated. Mercury in Aquarius will facilitate our abilities to conceptualize and think “outside the box.”

The POWER and VALUE of ASTROLOGY

We all experience “easy” and “difficult” cycles in our lives. Astrology helps to clarify the nature of our struggles and the nature of our gifts . What are our strengths and where do we get stuck? What are the timings for each cycle? Deeper self-knowledge is vital for developing compassion for ourselves and others. Astrology helps us remember that the challenges we face are cyclical – and it highlights opportunities where we can learn and grow.

Please e-mail me with any questions you may have. I look forward to hearing from you!

Keep looking up!!
